OCTOBER

first few minutes into the film i thought perhaps this is indeed a unrefined film - maybe i cant look at it now.
I was proved wrong , a bit of patience paid off, i was looking at it better when i thought that a fiction is also a documentary.
Images changed to appear more meaning ful so much that in that new content i was seeing, or i think i was seeing i lost the track of the original narrative!

I dont believe the film a merely a propoganda, it achieves more but i fail to say what at the moment.

I am just a new born to silents!

ha ha, i lost one again. A total of 2 ive lost and at least i'm not feeling so fucked as last time. Is it that i am not sufficiently attached to the set, or perhaps i know how i lost it. Last time it was a mystery for quite some time ans eventually i knew who the culprit was. I was okay after that.
I mean i could understand.
Even this time i can understand..!

On Costa

Well i saw two films by this guy Casa de lava & Ossos and both thankfully need a little more attention. I need to see them again and maybe i'll be able to write about them.

The few writings about Costa's films i found on net I did not like.

Then there's this film he made on the Straubs, which should be a treat to watch and since i've been doing a little bit of editing myself - and the film centres around Straubs editing their film Sicilia - i feel better. Better not because of hoping for a more accesible film but also because of personal reasons!
